As I write this blog, I don't quite know where to start – I'm overwhelmed. The grand total of pledges received for the Season of Prayer, Fasting & Giving is a massive £212,000! It's quite mind-blowing to think how God has provided and the church has sacrificially given over this season. It means that in the last 13 months, well over £500,000 – half a million pounds! – has been given and pledged by King's Church – a group of very ordinary people who have been gripped by an extraordinary God.
I can only begin to think how blessed we are at the level of commitment hundreds of you show week-in, week-out, and demonstrated again over the last three weeks. God's grace, mercy and favour run very deep.
This giving also means that the 20% we're giving away will be an amazing figure in its own right – approximately £42,000, which is incredible. It's serious money, as we look to serve the disadvantaged in our town and get behind Dave Holden's group of churches.
These are exciting days and I'm looking forward to seeing all that God is going to do among and though us over the coming months.
And that's only part of it: I'm so encouraged by the times of prayer we've had over the last three weeks. We've enjoyed some great times in God's presence; it's been so good to be praying in different towns and venues, with chief inspectors and apostles, and really rolling up our sleeves and getting stuck in. My prayer and hope is that we continue to grow in our prayerfulness as a church over the coming months.
As we look to fulfill our pledges (the painful part begins), I pray that God will "...make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work" (2 Corinthians 9:8).
Thank you for your amazing response.
