KING’S CHURCH BLOG

16th October 2011

The adventure's just begun!

I want to start by saying a huge thank you for your amazing, faith-filled generosity over this season. At a time when money is tight and there's a lack of financial security, your evident trust in God really does bring glory to Him. I know many of you have given in a similar way to the Macedonian church: poverty and trial welling up in rich generosity (1 Cor. 8), as well as trusting that as we give – not because we must, but out of a heart of thankfulness – God is able to make all grace abound to us (1 Cor. 9).

At this morning's meeting, our total rose to an incredible £334,616.50, for which I'm so thankful to God and humbled by your overwhelming generosity. Over the coming weeks this will enable us to plan for an exciting 2012, during which we'll prepare the Hastings Centre for meetings of 600 – men, women, children, teenagers, elderly, students, those from other nations, the poor and the broken – Sunday by Sunday.

This Season of Prayer, Fasting & Giving was just the start – I am looking forward to the great adventure God is going to take us on over the coming months!
