We are really proud to be part of the Hastings & 1066 Country community – we love our town and the surrounding areas, which are rich in history and culture.

There’s so much to see and do here, from family days out on the beach in the summer, to visiting sights such as Battle Abbey and Rye Harbour, seeing outstanding performances and exhibitions at Bexhill’s De La Warr Pavilion, or taking a stroll into Hastings Old Town to see our historic fishing fleets, the steepest funicular railway in Europe and the Jerwood Art Gallery.

As if that isn’t enough, we’re surrounded by so much natural beauty, with the sea bordering us on the south and Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve on the north.

This area is also home to some excellent events each year, including the Seafood & Wine Festival and the Hastings Bonfire & Fireworks Display. People come to 1066 Country from far and wide for England’s Medieval Festival in Herstmonceux, the Coastal Currents festival, Old Town Carnival Week and the May Day Motorbike Run.

This is a fantastic place to live and visit, and we love being part of it!
