Each year we support another local charity that is making a difference to the lives of residents and the wider community. We do this primarily by raising money for this charity at our special events, particularly our Christmas and Easter services. (Some of our Community Groups also raise money for other local charities throughout the year.)

Local charities we have supported in the past include the Seaview Project, Surviving Christmas, and Friends of the Conquest.

This year (September 2015 to August 2016), we are supporting Hope Kitchen, a fantastic local charity that has been providing food and friendship to local people in need for 10 years.

Hope Kitchen is a soup kitchen in the centre of Hastings that is open on Thursday and Saturday evenings for anyone over 18 to come for soup and sandwiches, a hot drink and a chat.

It provides not only food, but also a warm, dry, safe place where all are welcomed. Some of their guests are homeless and many are poorly housed or sofa-surfing. Some struggle with alcohol misuse or drug addiction; some with physical or mental health problems. As well as listening, the volunteers at Hope Kitchen can advise on where further help can be found, and where appropriate offer prayer.
