SELECTED STORY: UNEMPLOYED AND OVERWHELMED BY DEBT

“I was unemployed, completely overwhelmed by debt, and thinking I'd have to declare myself bankrupt.”

Anonymous
In 2003 I was unemployed and completely overwhelmed by debt, with interest mounting up every day. My debts were at £22,000 when I met with an advisor to discuss declaring myself bankrupt.

I didn't do that in the end, because I found a job and resolved to try to clear my debt over the next 10 years.

God massively honoured my determination to both give to Him and pay off as much debt as I could each month: in less than five years I went from being £22,000 in debt to having £22,000 in my savings account!

The maths didn't add up (the job wasn't that well paid and I had also bought a nearly-new car!) but somehow God had not only enabled me to pay back all of my debt much faster than required and buy a car, but also to find myself in credit to the amount I had previously been in debt!
