HEARING GOD'S VOICE

16th October 2014
It says in 2 Corinthians 9:7 that "God loves a cheerful giver" and here at King’s, our recent Gift Days have shown that we are a very cheerful church!
During the course of two Sundays – 21 September and 5 October 2014 – many of you came prepared to give and pledge generously after seeking God. We’re delighted to announce that over £60,000 was given and pledged, which is a phenomenal amount!
£25,000 of this will cover half of the mortgage repayments on our newly-refurbished building (the other half will be paid by the Hastings Centre); all of the rest will be spent on helping those in need in our local communities and overseas mission. For example, first of all by giving £2,000 to Newfrontiers churches in West Africa to help with the Ebola crisis.
Paul Mann, speaking on the Gift Days, said: "I’m amazed. I’m absolutely flabbergasted at the generosity of the church, people’s willingness to give, God’s faithfulness. The thought of not just being able to pay half the mortgage, but then having over £35,000 to help people in overseas mission and work for the poor in our area, is just incredible."
We’re so grateful to everyone who gave, and most of all thank God for blessing us so abundantly. The passage in 2 Corinthians goes on to say that "generosity will result in thanksgiving to God". We pray that this money will be used to advance His Kingdom in Hastings and beyond.
