CARE FOR THE POOR

Members of King's spent the day at Tesco in Hollington on Saturday (9th June), collecting food for the Foodbank. Generous shoppers donated two-thirds of a metric ton of food during the day, which is approximately 660kg. The food will be distributed to local people facing crisis situations.
There are over 5,500 children living in poverty in Hastings & St Leonards*, and we set up the Hastings Foodbank in response to a growing need. Working with others such as St Helen's Church, the Foodbank is providing emergency food and support to local people who are referred via a range of agencies, including Citizens' Advice Bureau, the Council's Housing Services, Family Outreach Services and others.
